CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF – Debbie Allen directs an African- American production of Tennessee Williams' Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. CHICAGO — Tony Award-winning revival of Kander and Ebb's sizzling 1975 musical. Chicago is about an over-the-hill chorine who murders her boyfriend, tries to pin it on her husband, attracts a high-profile lawyer, is found not guilty after a razzmatazz carnival of a trial, and then parlays her new-found fame into a vaudeville engagement. CURTAINS — It's literally 'curtains' for the leading lady who dies mysteriously onstage during the applause at the end of the show. The entire company -- the producers, the songwriters, the director, the actors, the stage manager -- are possible suspects and each has a motive, to be sorted out by a local detective. The detective, who is a fervent musical theatre fan, allows the company to continue rehearsing while he conducts his murder investigation. He soon finds himself in the middle of the uproarious bedlam of theatrical egos and eccentricities, more murders and even a budding love affair. GLORY DAYS — The story of four best friends who reunite a year after high school graduation, only to find how much they have grown apart. GREASE — This new revival of the musical Grease hits Broadway this summer with performers who will play the leading roles chosen via a nationwide search chronicled on the NBC-TV series Grease: You're The One That We Want. The musical tells the story of Sandy and Danny; they have a summer romance and then end up at the same high school, where Sandy's good girl ways don't fit in with the attitude of Danny and his too-cool-for-school friends. GYPSY — Patti LuPone leads the cast in the role of "Rose," the quintessential stage mother, joined by Boyd Gaines as "Herbie" and Laura Benanti as "Louise," the daughter who transforms into the title character of "Gypsy" in this musical fable suggested by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee. LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES — Laura Linney and Ben Daniels star in this definitive battle of the sexes. For long-time friends and occasional lovers simply play a game of chess. MARY POPPINS — The world’s most famous nanny is truly "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" and she does indeed fly through the audience. London's West End hit musical based on the stories by P.L. Travers and the Oscar-winning 1964 Walt Disney film, comes to Broadway! The story has been altered from the movie to incorporate things from the seven original Mary Poppins books. SOUTH PACIFIC — This musical revival (starring Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot) is based on James Michener's Tales of the South Pacific, and features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein. SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE — The Georges Seurat painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jette," is the inspiration for this compelling musical fantasy which celebrates the art of creation and the creation of art. The first half of Sunday in the Park with George, set in 1884, sees the painting and its rich comic tapestry come to life in a world where, for Georges, art comes before love, before everything. In the second half, set in 1980s New York, we see the great grandson of Georges and his search for inspiration amongst the unfolding world of contemporary art. THE COUNTRY GIRL – Morgan Freeman, Frances McDormand, and Peter Gallagher star in the Broadway revival of Clifford Odets' drama which premiered on Broadway in 1950, The play, is about a down-on-his luck alcoholic actor and his unhappy wife, whose fortunes look to change when he is offered a role by a hot-shot director. THE LION KING — With wildly inventive life-size puppets, exotic masks, and costumes, Disney's adaptation of its popular animated movie is a visual stunner. The show follows the adventures of the royal lion cub Simba, and his quest to grow up and learn what it means to be a king.
