The Knicks were among the league's elite in three different eras, each separated by about two decades. In the early 1950s New York played for the NBA title three times. The early 1970s represented the team's golden age, when the Knicks won two NBA championships with a roster studded with such Hall of Fame talent as Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Dave DeBusschere, Earl Monroe, and Bill Bradley. Then, in the 1990s, the Knicks again became dominant behind center Patrick Ewing, advancing to the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1999.
